October Preview

I meant to share this with y’all sooner, but it kinda got forgotten in all the busy work I’ve had the last few days with grading pins, starting some of the vectors, and prepping for the shop drop that happened this week. I didn’t even realize it was already the 30th! 🙈 So, without further ado, here are the designs for October!

PRETTY WINKERS: PS

Everyone’s favorite Sailor Moon goth girl is perfect for those October vibes (although we plan on having cherry blossoms in the background from her iconic scene that’s used in lots of youtube music videos). We also want to put sakura in the background as a call back to when she’s reborn and her dad is taking care of her outside of the hospital. Taka chose to make her look a little younger than the other two designs we have for her so that she can be paired with Chibiusa and also sort of when she was aging quickly between being reborn and being given back her memories. For her outfit, she didn’t have a lot of outfits in the anime, so I thought I’d do her really nice top from this manga illustration below:

Opposite her design is daddy Tomoe! 🤣 Taka decided to make his winking eye the one that is the opened eye on his iconic glasses. I do want to make some small adjustments to his face when I vector, and a little more flowy hair to give him those handsome dreamy man vibes ‘cause if we’re gonna do a fine lookin’ daddy pin, we’re gonna do it right! 🤣

PRETTY WINKERS: SG

For our final Spirited Away design, I wanted to do my other favorite character besides Rin… BOH! If you couldn’t tell he was a favorite of mine, I’ve already snuck him into the Chihiro and Zeniba designs, so of course I needed to do an actual pin of him. I’m not fully happy with this, I need to adjust his arm a bit and maybe add a tiny bit more baby pudge. And Taka said I made his eye too big making him resemble a Kewpie doll, which I mean, I’m not mad about, but I’ll try to make it look a little more authentic to Ghibli style. I drew Boh in his playroom playing with a mouse plush of himself! There’s also plushies of Haku in dragon for, and ootori-sama (the little duck guys). Soot sprites make a return in this design as well as a nod to when they were all surrounding mouse Boh in the boiler room. And Finally Yu-Bird is taking a nap. I hope you all enjoy this final Spirited Away design before we move onto another film. ;)

MOUJUU CLUB

October’s design is more vicious than September’s super cute Shiba Inu. Done in a more traditional irezumi style, I chose this pose for Taka to draw as a nod to old school flash tattoo art. I think this one will look very cool as a lapel pin, would probably make a cool patch too. We will have both Orange and White variants to choose from.
