MOUJUU CLUB

Here I am in the wee hours of the morning having finally wrapped up pin designs (well almost all). I want to apologize profusely that it has taken me so long to get these to you all. December is off to a busy month and despite me using every free moment to work on vectors, I am just so behind this month due to still being sick the first couple days of this month, vending at holiday markets, shipping orders in hopes of getting them to customers in time for holidays and just having to handle everything without Taka to help with even small tasks around the house. Unfortunately, I don’t even have the Moujuu design ready for you all because Taka has been non-stop busy with business in Japan. I truly hope he’ll have time today or tomorrow to work on the dragonfish, but I am confident it will be worth the wait and we should still hopefully have it before the long Lunar New Year holiday in China, which will be perfect for you all that want to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.

PRETTY WINKERS: PS

If I’m being truthful, Taka left me high and dry this month because he only finished the rough linework for me for the characters, so I was left to my own devices for the final lines and backgrounds. >_< That said, I’m quite happy with the backgrounds I chose. For Mamoru, I chose the city scenery in the very same episode this outfit comes from. The sky will be glittery for both day and night variants, and I’m planning on pearlescent enamel on the white section of the pocket watch. For Mimette, I thought about doing the laboratory or her messy idol filled desk, but in the end I decided to do the TV screens that were her demise! I’m really happy with how she turned out considering she’s one of my least favorite Sailor Moon villains! 🙊 Apologies if she’s one of your favorite!

PRETTY WINKERS: SG

We’re starting out with San from Princess Mononoke for December and will continue with Ashitaka & Lady Eboshi for January and February! I wanted to be sure to include her “siblings” as well. I am debating on making a night variant for her despite not having done that for the rest of the Ghibli collection so far. Is that something y’all would be interested in? Please feel free to let me know! I’m overall really happy with how San turned out and am generally feeling like I’m finding my stride with drawing Ghibli characters, but still having a touch of my own style with them. What do you all think?

CLUB BOX UPDATES

Since I’m sort of a sitting duck til Taka gets me the Moujuu design for this month, my next focus is going to be grading the pins I’ve gotten in which I included in the last email. It’s a lot to go through, so I wouldn’t likely be done grading pins until at least the end of next week which gets us pretty close to crunch time for holiday shipping. Since a lot of packages start to get lost/stolen around that time I would like to delay shipping out outstanding designs until after Christmas. I thank you all for your patience and understanding on that decision. If there are any combined orders you need sooner than later due to gifting, please let me know and I can at least get those out to you ASAP.

I’ve still got 2 more very busy weekends of vending including two short events on Tuesday & Wednesday this week, but I am so looking forward to a very chill January. At least chill in regards to having to leave the house. I’ll undoubtedly still be busy all January, but I’m thankfully going to finally be tackling a lot of the sketches I’ve started and finalizing vectors I’ve nearly completed. I’m practically foaming out the mouth with so many ideas that I can’t wait to bring to life. Let’s just say this: 2024 will be full of stationery, astrology and Filipinx folklore and I hope you are all down with that! :p
